Disclosure Policy

At it’s core, A Competitive Couple is all sharing how awesome tabletop gaming is as a hobby. We love it, and we love writing about it.

But there are expenses that comes with running this website. We ruddy love our blog, but it’s not cheap to host. So anything that can help us take even a teeny-tiny chip out of the costs of running this site would help us very, very much.

But we just wanted to clarify a few things for you:

Our thoughts on products or services are always our own

Integrity and honesty is hugely important to the both of us, and we will always provide you with a true-to-life opinion.

Affiliate linking

We do use affiliate links. Most of our posts link through to a dedicated page for that game, which do contain affiliate links

And so, we do use affiliate links.

Blogging about these gaming is so much fun, and I enjoy interacting with you and exchanging ideas. However, as a blogger, there are also many opportunities for me to get paid for what I do.

Running a blog does have it’s expenses – hosting, graphic licenses, time, not to mention talking about games that often can cost more than $50. So if I can offset those costs even a little bit to provide you with more quality and exciting content, I’m going to do it. But it will always be with my own integrity in mind. I won’t ever lie about a product or service that I share with my readers. That’s just not how I work.

Please read through the following accepted forms of compensation, so you are aware of these practices on Art of Boardgaming.

I am an affiliate for many of the products that I recommend. That means when you click on the link on my site and purchase whatever product or service being offered I will receive a percentage of that purchase, at no extra cost to you. If you don’t feel comfortable doing that, please feel free to go straight to the source.

Art of Boardgaming is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.

In full disclosure, I have indicated in all of my posts whether or not they have affiliate links. At the beginning of each post,  you will see this statement, which means any links from there on out could be of an affiliate nature.

This post may contain affiliate links. Read my full disclosure policy here.

I will also end all of my posts with this disclosure, reminding you again of how my affiliate links work.

Disclosure: Some of the links in the post above are affiliate links. This means if you click on the link and purchase the item, I will receive an affiliate commission. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will add value to my readers. Read my full disclosure policy here.

From time to time I may receive free products in exchange for my open and honest review. While I will often use an affiliate link when mentioning these products, I will never recommend that you purchase a product just because I get a kick back. If I’m not convinced of it’s value, I will be clear in my review.

Companies may also offer me monetary compensation to write about them in a post, or to share my experience. Again, I will only accept these offers if I believe they legitimately benefit you.

I will begin these posts with the following statement or similar, so you know exactly which posts are sponsored.

The following is a sponsored post, which means I am compensated in some form for writing it. However, I only share this because I truly think you’ll enjoy what this company has to offer!

I will then end my posts with this disclosure, reminding you of my personal stance on sponsored products.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this product free from <such-and-such business>. The opinions I have expressed are my own. Read my full disclosure policy here.

I want you to be able to trust wholeheartedly in the content you find on Art of Boardgaming. I am here to help you discover new and exciting gaming opportunities, and the last thing I want to do is tarnish that goal. The views and opinions expressed on this blog are solely mine and I do my best to always be honest and forthright in what I share.
